The existing provincial government building of Noord-Holland will be renovated completely and a new wing will be added. The design is characterized by important improvements. The existing façade will be replaced and a new tapered entrance hall will be build within the building court. The central entrance area will provide access to all the office floors.
The Province of Noord-Holland pursues a high level of sustainability. Besides the fact that the design included a renovation, the GPR of the design is 9,6. The new façade will have a high level of sustainability and improves the integration in to the existing city structure. 

The project has been earmarked by the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment (VROM), WWI (Wonen, Wijken en Integratie; Living, Neighbourhoods and Integration), as an example project for offices with regard to energy and climate.
 

The province has strong sustainability ambitions. Despite the fact that the project in question was a renovation, it involved a GPR of 9.6. The new façade not only allows the project to score high marks in terms of sustainability, but also integrates it more effectively in the city.


The project has been identified by the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment-Housing, Neighbourhoods and Integration as an exemplary office project in the area of energy and the climate.
