The former Kloosterkazerne barracks building, Breda’s second national monument, has been converted to accommodate a new casino. The basic themes of the restoration are the display of the building’s various time layers and keeping the contemporary interventions out of view. The large-scale installations, for example, have been accommodated in a separate wing, so that their presence does not affect the appearance of the monument. Five elliptical rosettes that resemble falling coins grace the end wall of the chapel.
